Scripture (Judges 13:18, NIV):
"He replied, 'Why do you ask my name?' It is beyond understanding."
Devotional:
Manoah and his wife couldn't wrap their heads around the angel's words, yet God was moving in ways beyond human comprehension. Sometimes we want every answer, every detail - but God reminds us His name, His nature, and His plans are far bigger than our minds could ever fathom. Samson's mom teaches us that faith doesn't require full explanation; it requires trust. When God says He's at work, our role isn't to figure it all out, but to obey and wait.
Questions to Consider:
When have I demanded answers from God instead of resting in His mystery?
How can I practice trust when His plan feels beyond my comprehension?
What does this verse remind me about God's greatness compared to my limited view?
Prayer:
Lord, help me rest in the truth that You are greater than my understanding. When I can't see the full picture, remind me that Your plans are good and worth trusting. Amen.
