Confirmation in the Thunder
Sometimes you don't realize God's using you until after the conversation ends.

Scripture (Job 37:5, NKJV):
"God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend."
Devotional:
I'd had several interviews lately, and honestly? I was starting to feel like they were all a waste of time. I kept walking away thinking, "Lord, what was the point of that?" I wasn't just looking for a paycheck - I was looking for purpose.
So before this last interview, I prayed. I said, "Jesus, if this isn't where You want me, then let it still be used for Your good. Don't let this be a waste of time — let it be an assignment; Your assignment."
I didn't know how quickly He'd answer. Like I've said before - our soon and His soon is totally different, so this shocked me, honestly.
The man interviewing me started opening up about how he's been feeling convicted to stop working so much and focus on what God's really calling him to do — to write, to journal, to use his story for something bigger. Then he looked right at me and said, "You're convicting me."
In that moment, I realized - this wasn't an interview anymore. This was ministry. God had walked into the room through me.
I told him, "I used to be that way too - always trying to work harder, chase more, fix everything myself. But that's not what God wanted. He wanted me to lay it down and let Him lead, I'm still working on it - but I'm getting there."
When I left (like I literally got in my car and drove off), the sky got cloudy. Thunder rolled so loud it shook the air, and rain poured like heaven itself was clapping.
And right there, sitting in my car, I smiled and said, "Okay, Lord. I hear You."
The thunder wasn't random - it was confirmation. That was God saying, "You did what I sent you to do. Assignment complete."
I never want anyone to feel that they need to give up anything, but when He is telling us to do things - we have to learn to listen to Him.
Questions to consider:
How many times have you done something that you thought was a waste of time, but was really divine timing?
Where has God shown you that we as Christians never clock out - whether that's work, church, waiting rooms, grocery stores, etc?
Have you prayed for God to use you for His good instead of your wants or needs? This may change everything for you, if you have not already done so.
Prayer:
Father I pray that I continue to go through life seeing you. I pray that You use me wherever You need me, however I can be of service to You. I pray that if there is something I keep thinking is a waste of time, that You show me where and how it isn't. I pray that You help me to see Your work and be thankful of all that You are doing in my life - whether good or bad and You help me turn the bad into my testimony for others to hear and be led to You. In Your Holy Name, Amen.
