Scripture (Galatians 6:7-9, NIV):
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Devotional:
Reciprocity isn't luck - it's law. Every word, every action, every silence plants something. The question isn't if you'll reap it, but when. When we sow selfishness, manipulation, or laziness, the field always tells on us. But when we sow consistency, forgiveness, and faith, even dry soil starts breaking open.
God doesn't forget the work you've done in secret - the prayers whispered when no one clapped, the grace you gave when it wasn't returned. His timing feels slow because His harvest is thorough. What you plant in one season often blooms in another, and the waiting is where He strengthens your roots.
So keep giving, even when you're tired. Keep sowing truth, even when the ground looks hard. The harvest comes - not on your schedule, but right on His.
Questions to Consider:
What seeds am I planting today - complaints or kindness?
Have I been expecting a harvest from a field I never watered?
What does God want me to start giving that I've been withholding?
Prayer:
Lord, help me sow in love, not in fear. Remind me that every act of obedience and kindness is a seed You see, even when others don't. Keep me from bitterness when I don't see results right away. Teach me to give without keeping score, and to trust that Your timing brings the harvest. Amen.
