Scripture (Jeremiah 29:11, NKJV):

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."

Devotional:

Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God has a plan for our lives—a plan for peace, not harm, and one filled with hope and a future. But this promise wasn’t given in a perfect season. It was spoken to people who were in exile, in a place they didn’t want to be, facing a process that wouldn’t change overnight.

Sometimes we find ourselves in situations that don’t feel aligned, and it’s easy to question where God is. But just because the season feels uncomfortable doesn’t mean His plan has changed. God’s purpose is still working—even in the waiting, even in the stretching.

You weren’t meant to be misvalued or to settle for less than what God has for you. His plan is still good, and it’s still leading you toward something greater—even if you can’t see it yet

Questions to consider:

  1. Where did I question God's plan today instead of trusting it?

  2. Did I accept anything today that didn't align with my worth or His purpose for me?

  3. Where did I see - even in a small way - that God is still working in my life?

Prayer:

Lord,
Thank You for being a God who sees the full picture when we only see a moment. Help us trust Your plan, even when our current situation feels uncomfortable or unclear. Remind us that Your thoughts toward us are good, full of peace, purpose, and hope.

Teach us not to settle for less than what You have for us. Give us the wisdom to recognize where we’ve accepted things that don’t align with our worth, and the courage to walk away from what You never intended for us.

Strengthen us in the waiting, grow us in the stretching, and help us remember that You are always working - even when we can’t see it.

We trust You with our future, knowing that Your plan is greater than anything we could try to control.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
